About me

Evidently, my name is Luke Hinds

This site is to capture notes on two topics. My work and my Hobby.

I work as a software engineer for a company called Red Hat, with a focus on security and systems trust.

My hobby (well obsession) is running. Ultra running to be specific (anything greater than a marathon distance). I have so far ran distances of 50k, 50 miles and a 100 miles. My ultimate goal race is the “Spine Race” 258 miles along the UK’s pennine way, in the height of winter.

I live in Wiltshire with my family (my wife and two daughters)

My kids are both keen runners too.

I also coach young kids as a qualified UK Athletics Coach

My family has two dogs Stanley (a Staffordshire Bull Terrier) and Maisie (a French Bulldog)

I drive a Land Rover Defender when it works, and due to often having to fix it, might post helpful content here, for other frustrated owners.

I generally shy away from drama and try to keep a perspective on what matters.

I live in area of the UK called Wiltshire, or to be specific ‘The Cotswold’. I am very lucky, I would not want to live anywhere else as its very beautiful

Favorite sayings..

“You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches.”

Dita Von Teese

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

Calvin Coolidge

Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response”

Let’s build something together.
